Leere – Fragmented Identity

Leere - Fragmented Identity

Artist: Leere
Album: Fragmented Identity
Genre: Darkwave
Released: 2018

After the many times I’ve listened to the debut of the former Monowelt member, I came to the conclusion that Daria Leere is a musical chameleon. English, Russian, or German; high pitched singing (‘Kirschenblüten’) vs. deep, somber vocals (‘Viereck’); fast, kicking tracks (‘Erik Voltage’), industrial gimmicks (‘Baustelle’), or a dive into post-romantic spheres (‘zerbrechlich’) – a weird, at points even disturbing, yet intriguing blend of everything, Fragmented Identity is an album where the name is programme. And it still makes sense after all.

Fragmented Identity by Leere is an experiment for those who are looking for something challenging that rewards you for new discoveries in the lyrics or in the instrumentation. Hence continuous exposure is imperative for the unfolding of this rough musical diamond’s beauty.
